I also want to talk about the house where I lived. A house with the most homey atmosphere, where the kindest and most fun guys lived, who gave me the most unforgettable summer and never let me get bored. Guys who will remain my friends for life. And where there was the kindest Landlord, who always helped in difficult moments and gave wonderful advice. This house is located in Wildwood, New Jersey. I won't write the address, but if you end up in this city and start looking for housing, I'm sure this house will be the first one you find!
I also want to advise you to look for housing in advance; it's better to start at the end of winter or the beginning of spring, as housing in resort towns is snapped up quickly. One of my friends had to look for housing on the spot, and it's terrible because you'll be exhausted after the trip and will want to rest as soon as possible, and most importantly, she was lucky that she found it at all. So I advise you to take care of this early!
Now about prices: the average price for housing is 100 dollars a week, so look for good conditions at an affordable price, don't overpay. Another case: my colleague rented housing for more than 100 dollars (I don't remember the exact price), but the conditions were terrible, so don't agree to the first offer you come across.
Also, a point about your rights and responsibilities: don't forget to treat everyone in the house with respect, follow its rules, and most importantly, clean up after yourself! If you don't follow the rules, you can be evicted; that happened in our house too. Our house was often dirty, but our landlord Harry was very patient. Thank him so much! He also gave us bicycles for free because it was very far to work. We had our own refrigerators in the room.
And in general, a tip on choosing a city: choose tourist cities, as there are many options and jobs in the summer, good tips, and many other students you can make friends with and go on trips together!
I want to note that almost all the students in the house where I lived were Russian; this didn't give me the opportunity to practice the language, but it created an incredibly warm and family-like atmosphere. So the choice is yours! But know that so far from home, where you will be for a long time and get terribly tired at work, the main thing you will need is support!
