About my second job: sometimes we have to get up at 5 AM and, as usual, leave the house 3 minutes before the shift starts, running like it's a physical fitness exam. Every morning I think: 'Why am I doing this?'. But that's only until Dave picks us up in his golf cart so we don't have to walk across all the huge fields (there are 9 of them!) on a cold morning. Dave is the head coach. But he also oversees everything imaginable: the cleanliness of the playing fields, the maintenance of the carts for clients, and so on. No, this isn't the typical boss you're used to imagining: made a mistake? A fine or yelling for no reason. That's definitely not this story. Dave is always incredibly happy to see us, always asks how we're doing, where we went on the weekend, what's new in Russia, and during the workday, he periodically praises us for good work and says thank you. So when you feel that your work is truly valued by someone, you immediately realize that yes, I need this. I need to enjoy good, human treatment at work, and for very decent money too, which, unfortunately, is rare to find back home in Russia.
The most important thing happening to me here is that I'm gaining experience in communication between a boss and employees, so that later I won't be a typical director who yells and gets nervous for no reason ;)
