Well, today I finally passed my American driving test on the second try! Yay!
Rules of the road in California are actually a bit different: first, you can't drive below the speed limit indicated on the signs during the exam - sometimes you forget about it and just try to drive at a comfortable speed, but there might be a "speed limit 55" sign, which means at least 55 mph (1 mile ~ 1.6 km). Second, there are "Stop" lines where you must come to a complete stop and wait for 3 seconds. Third, you are allowed to turn right at an intersection (unless there is a "no right turn on red" sign), and now the most important thing, which for me (and not only me) is just unthinkable - the actions before turning! So, to turn left, for example, or to change lanes, you need to: 1. Look in the rearview mirror. 2. Look in the side mirrors. 3. And look well over your shoulder to the left. The signs are almost the same as in Russia, and if there are others, their meaning is written on them in large letters.
And special attention is paid to school buses. If the warning lights are on and the stop sign is extended, you must stop and wait until it moves. The examiner during the test was reasonable and didn't try to fail me at all. Before we started, we joked around and discussed the work of Oxxxymiron. I think that's really cool!!! By the way, last year I noticed that in the USA they highly value cars (and not only) of American production: Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, Cadillac.

And what about traffic jams? They exist in big cities, but mostly it's not a dead stop, but slow movement ~ 20 km/h.
