We didn't think long about where to go from the Big Apple. The choice didn't just fall, it rushed to Miami. $150 and off we go. It was hard to part with 4500 rubles!!

Once you are in America, forget about rubles. Try never to convert the cost in dollars into rubles. The faster you learn this, the easier it will be for you to go to grocery stores.
People say they love traveling by bus. I disagree.
Seeing America from bus windows?! That's like watching a movie through a keyhole while in a movie theater!

Sorry for the anti-advertising... If you have the opportunity, never travel on "Grayhound" buses! We traveled to Miami for 33 hours, and we were standing for 6.5 of them! These stops at night were especially unbearable, when the whole bus is kicked out to the station. Poor passengers, like zombies, wander around the station... I noticed there is a plane ticket price on the site... $180! It's better to overpay $30 and save 30 hours. After all, time is one of the most important categories in our life.
So, the agonizing 33 hours are over! Miami... I love writing Miami... I like the graphic look of this word written in Latin script much more than in Cyrillic. This city reluctantly took us into the embrace of its waves. The bus unloaded us in a city at night, after the rain, and in some bad neighborhood too.
I'll tell you how we slept. At 1 or 2 a.m., we were kicked out of the bus station building because those are the operating hours. We have: a few bags, asphalt, humid air that makes clothes and hair damp, as well as metal benches covered in water, lizards and rats running near trash cans. They say hunger is not an aunt... Well, sleep is not an aunt either and will force you to sleep anywhere. =) One of us, the most agile, lay down on the bags, and the rest settled on the benches, previously wiped dry of water with newspapers. The night passed in anticipation of dangers from all sides... But it passed.
