USA, USA... there's so much in that word. Like many modern teenagers, I have an impossible dream of that distant country stuck in my head. Movies, mostly silly comedies, are what draw us to America. The pink girls' rooms, the almost manic involvement of everyone in school life, the highly developed sports culture (cheerleading, baseball, soccer, etc.), the division into losers and popular kids... But is it all real? As my social studies teacher used to say, if you ask an American 'How are you?', they'll flash a 32-tooth smile and say 'Nice'. Disclaimer: that ear-to-ear grin and the great, ambiguous 'nice' are just a mask. Everyone probably knows this. But despite that, I'd love to dive headfirst into that life and, as they say, never to come back. And who wouldn't? Who wouldn't want to learn about a foreign culture, language, customs, and fashion, after all?! So, what else I like about the USA is its spirit of freedom, or something like that. Or maybe it's just an illusion created in my brain by special effects, good actors, and sets...
So, the question for everyone is: who DOESN'T want to???
