Let's get to know each other, shall we? ;) My name is Lena, I'm 18, almost 19, I'm at university and I do everything that might interest me in the slightest. It's very easy to interest me, but keeping my attention is much harder. Something like that ^^

I grew up on our films and American ones. But while I saw our reality every day, I desperately wanted to see the "not ours" one. So I dreamed that one day I would grow up, save up a lot of money, and go.

But as I grew up, I realized that saving money would take a very long time, so I kind of gave up on it all, continued watching American TV shows, and sometimes dreamed of a house on the coast.

And so Lena grew up, graduated from school in 2009 with a medal, and ended up at the city Moscow ball for medalists, where a kind man, Luzhkov, gave us certificates for free ISIC processing, and inside the envelope were all sorts of other flyers. Among them was an ad for Work and Travel, I showed it to my friend, with whom we came to the ball, and said it would be cool. After that, it was forgotten.

In the autumn of that same year, being a freshman, I was talking one time with that same friend (her name is Ulyana) and found out that her mother really wanted to send her on this program after all. But after the first year, as she said, it's difficult, so it's better after the second (now, when I know a lot about WAT, I can responsibly state that it's actually not difficult at all). I got fired up by this idea and started living in their VK group, on forums, and in people's blogs. I learned a lot of new, interesting, and useful things, made a bunch of plans, and was absolutely sure that we would succeed! I shared information with Ulyana, but she didn't really show much excitement about it all. Oh well, she has always been known for her lack of emotional expression ;)

In the summer of 2010, I was finally allowed to go on vacation to the sea alone for the first time, I managed to feel that freedom and responsibility, one could even call that trip a rehearsal for WAT. True, I went with a different friend back then and stopped talking to her completely after that. Yes, she disappointed me as a person. But I had often traveled somewhere with Ulyana before that, so I wasn't worried about that with her.
