Yes, you heard that right, in a field)) But let's rewind a bit.
I don't understand students who come to America, stay in expensive hotels, watch TV all day, and occasionally go to the store for groceries. Maybe they are trying to integrate into American society that way? Fortunately, in Orlando, many people do just that. I have never seen so many overweight people anywhere else. You can often see the scene: a mom weighing nearly 150 kg slowly leading her 10-year-old son, who weighs 70 kg, to McDonald's to eat a couple or three Big Macs) Ba da ba ba ba, I’m lovin it)))
Anyway, I got a little distracted. Let's get back to hotels, or rather, hostels. For those who want adventure, an American hostel is the perfect option. People from all over America gather there. For example, a Canadian lived with me who once came in at night and started swearing in Russian at the top of his lungs, which surprised me quite a bit)))
So I lived there for a week, paying 25 bucks a night, and at one point I realized that at this rate, I would soon be eating only instant noodles. And dry ones at that)
I packed my stuff, bought a towel, and went to a field not far from a lake. The first ones to meet me were, no, not homeless people, but just American mosquitoes. They differ from Russian ones in their special agility and speed. Okay, mosquitoes are mosquitoes, but the body needs sleep. I spread out my towel, wrapped myself in everything I could, and lay down. Stars, fresh air, beauty. That's how I fell asleep.
2 hours pass... I hear a rustle. I lift my head, AAAA, holy cow, what kind of miracle of nature is standing there looking at me??? It doesn't react to shouting or intimidation, but just keeps coming closer. You have to imagine it: it's night, you're in a foreign country, in some field, and suddenly you wake up under the hungry gaze of an animal. While I was gathering my things, its brother arrived. Two against one has always been considered unfair, so I didn't want to tempt fate and took shelter in an abandoned house. As it turned out later, it was a raccoon.
I spent the rest of the night in that house, pacing from corner to corner and singing Russian songs)
That was how the 8th night of my stay in America went.
