As I mentioned before, our island has been the filming location for tons of series and movies, thanks to the perfect conditions... 50 First Dates, The Blue Lagoon, Pearl Harbor, LOST, Jurassic Park...
It is stunningly beautiful here, with preserved tropical impenetrable jungles, mountains, the ocean, and civilization...
That's why we absolutely wanted to visit the legendary filming locations.
- LOST
There was no need to search for the filming locations at all =)
In the photos, you can see the correspondence between the places we visited and those filmed in the series...
In the third photo, you can see the Ala Moana promenade, where Yurka and I walked every evening... and back then, this place didn't seem cinematic at all.
P.S. A bitter disappointment - according to Mark, the legendary Dharma Initiative village turned out to be a KINDERGARTEN =(
- Jurassic Park.
We tried to sneak into Jurassic Park illegally. It has been turned into a ranch now, with open excursion buses driving around... We traveled there for a very long time (almost 2 hours). While driving, we got a little lost, and a kind man gave us a ride in his truck =)
This is the most common transport in Hawaii... and hitchhiking is said to be legal. So we actively used it in various situations =)
Unfortunately, I didn't make it into the park itself because I was already late for work at my Pocho's, but as the guys told me, they were also turned away soon after because "YOU JUST CAN'T BE HERE."
In the last photo, you can see that very road to Jurassic Park. The 'private property' signs have hardly ever bothered any of us =)
