I am one of the lucky ones who already has a job offer=) If you cannot yet count yourself among this category of Work and Travel USA participants, then my tips might prove useful)
First, answer a simple question: have your friends or acquaintances already participated in the program? If yes, ask them about work and request the employer's contact details. This is the easiest and most reliable way, and besides, the cheapest) But if the answer is no, then let's move on.
There are many websites for job hunting:
http://exchange.iec.ru/index.php?mod=useriframe&xs=20
The most successful ones, in my opinion:
http://www.j1jobs.com - a special site for J-1 Visa students http://www.coolworks.com/ - work in national parks http://www.seasonalemployment.com - the name speaks for itself
Of course, there is also http://www.craiglist.org, but it is better to look for a second job on it while already in the USA, as all listings assume hiring in the very near future.
I, however, suggest another method. It requires patience and time, but it is worth it:) To start, download and install the Google Earth program http://www.google.com/intl/ru/earth/index.html
This is probably the most detailed map of the Earth, including the USA, which is what interests us;) After launching, move to America (for example, to the East Coast).
Now let's set up the map: on the left, click "layers", uncheck "labels" and "photos" so as not to clutter the map) But roads might come in handy:) But that's a matter of taste, and most importantly - "more" -> "categories of places" and check "coffee shops", "cafes and restaurants", "hotels and inns" - the main places for work. Next, zoom in on the map (by the way, if you press the mouse wheel and move it down, you can change the tilt angle, which, in my opinion, is more convenient), look for some resort town, click on an icon, for example, a hotel, a small window appears with basic information and often (but not always) with the website address. Then go to that site, look for the "employment" or "jobs" tab (it is often small and somewhere at the bottom), fill out the application form or send a cover letter and CV to the specified address and wait for a response=)
Important! If there is no information about employment on the hotel/cafe/etc. website, but there is an e-mail, be sure to send a cover letter to it!
My most profitable job offer came from an employer whose website had nothing about seasonal work.
That's all=) If you have questions, ask, I will be happy to answer them) And good luck!!)))))))
