So, in this post, I'll tell you about my workplace, the restaurant, and everything related to it.
What is Shaw's Fish and Lobster? It's the name of a seafood restaurant that operates from May to October. The customers are mainly grandparents—both locals who come for the summer to relax and enjoy their time, and people traveling by boat through the bays who stop by our cove for lunch or dinner. Sometimes young people drop by, but very rarely.
The cafe's rush hour workload can be compared to the busiest McDonald's in Moscow. A huge number of orders and work for all types of staff. On average, there are about 15 people working just in the kitchen, plus there's a lobster farming and harvesting complex located under the cafe, which also employs about 15 people.
Lloyd, the owner of this cafe, is a sweet old guy who works at the cafe for 4 months and spends the rest of the time in Florida for the winter. Expensive cars, houses—he has it all. A secure old age, a pleasant way to spend time, an excellent work team—what more could you wish for in your later years?
The restaurant has two dining areas: one outdoors and one inside.
What can you eat here and how much does it cost? The most popular dish here is lobster. One lobster costs about 12 dollars. Grandmas usually order two or even three. Besides lobster, the menu has a variety of fish dishes: different types of seafood (clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels, squid) fried or grilled. This also leads to various burgers, hot dogs, and similar items made from fish and chicken, soups, fillets, crab dishes, plenty of desserts, salads, and so on.
For comparison, I'll list a couple of prices:
Lobster - 12 dollars
Chicken burger - 5.50
Chicken salad - 8.25
French fries - 2.95
Rice - 1.50
Fried shrimp - 12 dollars
In general, it's not cheap to eat at the restaurant. But the grannies fill up their trays and devour everything in no time! )
As employees, we can eat anything we want for free, except for lobster. We can take food home and drink as many beverages as we like. After work, we can have a couple of beers. Everything is great with the food, the work itself isn't stressful, everything is within reason, the team is excellent—what more could you wish for? A second job, of course! ))
Well, that's all about work for now. If you want to know more about anything, write in the comments here! =)
