After a month, I realized that there was nothing for me in Orlando and it was time for a change. The useless daily runs to hotels and restaurants were starting to tire me out. And suddenly, as if on cue, a girl I knew said that there was a Russian employer in Miami looking for people to work as housekeepers in a hotel.
“How suspicious,” I thought.
Regarding Miami, I had already formed a negative opinion back in Russia. It was all due to a large number of negative reviews about this resort. They said it was full of Spanish speakers, few English speakers, and that it was impossible to find work or housing.
Nevertheless, my friend and I discussed it for an evening and decided to take a risk. We were given the manager's phone number. We called and agreed that we would arrive in Miami in 2 days. During that time, we settled all our affairs in Orlando and booked bus tickets for $30 at 12 PM. At that moment, my budget was already around $300.
So, 11 PM is 23:00, which means 12 PM is midnight, right? Dimon and I packed our bags and went to look for the bus. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and all the bus offices were closed! It turns out 12 PM is noon. Damn!!! Who came up with that??? Minus 30 bucks. In the end, we only left for Miami the next day, and we had to buy new tickets. New surprises awaited us there.
