Our journey to the USA went through Rome. Upon arrival, we found out that our flight from Rome to the USA was delayed first by a couple of hours, then by 4, and then by 9. We thought the volcano in Iceland had erupted again, but no, it turned out the airline had simply missed our flight and there were some transport issues. Given this problem, while spending a long time at the airport, we managed to get a free lunch at a restaurant from the airline, had a bite, and headed to boarding.
The airport almost became our second home after 9 hours =)) Our mood was ruined because we were already very tired, unwashed, unshaven, and hungry. But when we boarded the plane and they brought us lunch, we realized they had made up for their mistake:
The lunch was incredibly delicious: lasagna, salads, buns, Italian cheese (mmmmm), delicious Italian beer, red wine, red fish, coffee, cookies—all of it digested perfectly and helped us fall into a deep sleep.
There is no 13th row on planes, probably so that a passenger who bought such a ticket wouldn't panic and could calmly enjoy the in-flight cuisine and the view from the window:
And the view from the window could not help but amaze. The Atlantic Ocean covered in ice is simply stunning. At a huge altitude over the ocean, the temperature is around -40 degrees, which is when the window gets covered in a layer of frost.:
Overall, the flight was very long and tedious. We were very tired and dreamed of getting into a shower as soon as possible and eating something edible. On the way to the USA, we met some guys from Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg—very friendly Russian souls, with whom we will definitely meet up to walk around Boston and New York and keep in touch.
