History of the Work and Travel USA program

The history of the International Exchange Center began with Camp Counsellors USA, a program for students who wanted to work at children's camps in the United States. The founders of IEC participated in this program themselves and were so inspired by their experience that they decided: if they could do it, other students could too. This is how the idea of creating a company that would help students participate in international exchange programs was born. The International Exchange Center was founded in 1989. At that time, the most popular program was the Camp Counsellors USA Program. In 1994, IEC launched Work and Travel USA, and the first 15 students went to the United States. Since then, the program has become part of the lives of several generations of participants. Today, some of our first participants already bring their student children to us so that they too can have their own international exchange experience. Over the years, more than 150,000 students have successfully participated in the Work and Travel USA program and discovered America for themselves. Work and Travel USA is a unique opportunity not only to work, but also to experience American culture firsthand, make friends from all over the world and improve your English. Thanks to IEC's support at all stages of the program, from registration to returning home, each participant feels confident and ready for new adventures. This summer could be your first step towards great discoveries and vivid memories. Are you ready to be a part of this story and discover your America?
