Paying the Visa Application Fee

The 185 USD consular fee is not included in the program fee and must be paid separately by the participant directly to the U.S. Embassy. To pay the consular fee to apply for a U.S. visa interview, the participant must complete the following steps: 1. Complete Form DS-160: Form DS-160 must be completed before the fee can be paid. After completing the form, each applicant will receive a unique confirmation identification number that will be required for the next steps. 2. Use the official applicant service: After completing the DS-160, ask your IEC representative which official appointment and payment website is used for the country where you will have your visa interview. The service, payment methods, and appointment procedure vary by country. Use only the website specified by the relevant U.S. Embassy or Consulate. 3. Select the type of visa and determine the fee: In the account, select the type of visa you are applying for. At this point, you will be shown the amount of the consular fee to be paid. The amount for Summer Work Travel program participants is 185 USD. 4. Select payment method: Payment of the consular fee can be made in several ways: * Bank: You can pay the fee at a branch of a bank that works with a U.S. embassy or consulate. You usually need to print out a receipt and present it to the bank for payment. * Online: In some countries, online payment by bank card or other electronic methods is available. * Other payment methods: Depending on the country, other payment methods may be available, such as payment terminals. 5. Receive payment confirmation: After payment, you will receive a confirmation with a CGI number or transaction number. Be sure to keep this number as you will need it to schedule an interview date. 6. Schedule an interview: After paying the fee, return to your account on the U.S. Embassy or Consulate website and schedule an interview date. It is important to remember that the consular fee is non-refundable even if you are denied a visa. Also keep an eye on the embassy or consulate website for updates, as information about the procedure and payment methods may change.
