MOSCOW-NY...AEROFLOT AIRLINES...
Ah... How wonderful it is when you eat chicken with mashed potatoes (AEROFLOT), and not terrible pasta mixed with red pepper and olives (as happens when you fly with KLM airline)...
THEY BROUGHT THE JET BRIDGE TO THE PLANE... WELCOME TO NY!!
EVEN THE AIR THERE SEEMS DIFFERENT... OR RATHER, FOR THE FIRST FEW HOURS I COULDN'T EVEN TELL IF THERE WAS AIR AT ALL... IT WAS STUFFY... they took us to a hostel in Manhattan... WHILE WE WERE DRIVING, SCENES FROM AMERICAN MOVIES FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES... SO WHERE IS THIS ONE-STORY AMERICA, HUH?... PEOPLE ARE HURRYING... I WANT TO SLEEP... It was in the hostel that I felt I was in America!!! It's something reminiscent of a dormitory, the design of which was peculiar... Red color prevailed... And we also found out that sometimes in the evenings they hold something like a comedy club there... A room for 4 people... One shower per floor... Brutal... But at that moment I didn't care at all - I was terribly tired on the plane and wanted to wash off all the burden of impressions as quickly as possible... in the room, besides the beds, there was also a safe... In the evening, a woman from our sponsor company had a talk with us, answered questions (like how to get to Greyhound and what is it anyway??))...
WALKING AROUND MANHATTAN... COOL... but it's better not to do it alone and preferably not too late at night)) because there are just too many African Americans there who cast unambiguous glances in your direction... AND WHAT'S EVEN WORSE!! - there are rats living there!!! Which in the dark we first mistook for well-fed cats...
That's how the first day of my stay in NY went...
